Naeem Mohaiemen

Naeem Mohaiemen uses film, installation, and essays to research South Asia’s postcolonial markers (the partition of India in 1947 and the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971). His first museum project was as a member of Visible Collective, premiering Disappeared In America (disappearedinamerica.org) at Queens Museum in 2005. The project traveled widely, including the Whitney Biennial of American Art (Wrong Gallery: “Down By Law”). Projects have been supported by Andy Warhol Foundation (2021), Lunder Institute of American Art (2020), Ford Foundation (2017), Creative Time (2015), Guggenheim Foundation (2014), Franklin Furnace (2009), Puffin Foundation (2009), Rhizome (2009), and Creative Capital (2008).
